A favorite of mine.
Last night some bloggers whom I’ve never met but who helped me on my journey of pandemic awareness about 5 years ago sold out to the man and dissapointed, saddened, and digusted me. (ticked me off too) This is the reason this blog is being written. Bloggers in my opinion have a duty to present the truth to the people.

Sep 3, 2009 (CIDRAP News) – In advance of the expected pandemic H1N1 vaccination campaign this fall, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) yesterday invited the media to join federal officials in a tabletop exercise to prepare for some possible communications challenges.
About 40 members of the national press took part in the Washington, DC, event, which included some online flu blogs (Dem of CT from FW, Sharon from FT, Mike Coston Flu Blogger & CIDRAP) and news services, as well as state and local public health officials. Representatives from several federal agencies participated.
Discussions during the three exercise modules were off the record so that federal officials could freely discuss their responses to potential communications problems.
So, they are not telling us the truth now?
They are not openly discussing the messaage to the public (us) now. This means they are controlling the message and hiding the truth from us.?
Are we to stupid to understand and make our own choices without the media, the government and public health telling us what to do?
They are leading the sleeping sheep to slaughter

I approved this because I believe in open debate and that this should be “on the record”
It’s all fine and dandy that pre-pandemic messages and imminent pandemic messages were written up ahead of time, but it doesn’t take away from having personal integrity.
The people that wrote this,delivered this information to the governments, health departments, mainstream media, ceo’s of businesses… “the players ” for a pretty big fee, in my opinion also should have been warning the public since they had such a deep knowlege of the subject and they supposedly knew that it was being downplayed by “the players”
As for the fee part, I don’t mind that they make money using a skill they have and writing and manipulating people with words, word pictures, & emotions is a huge money making opportunity. Hell that’s very capitilistic and it is what advertising and getting people to buy something/into is all about.
But… the people who wrote the above information. KNEW what the end results were going to be and they did nothing to prepare the general public and yes, while some people think that they owe nothing to anyone.
I don’t think that way.
Conflict of Interest? Because they were paid by a certian group they can never-ever talk about pandemics outside of paid presentation???
Were they; the writers told never to talk about the real risks to the general public? I of course don’t know for sure, but I doubt it.
Integrity, in my opinion demands the writers of the pre and imminent pandemic messages come clean and cleanse their soul, save lives. It’s almost to late. Help us to close the schools, delay JIT collapse of the hospitals…until a safe vaccine is availble.
